Course Objectives:
This course aims to provide you with a solid foundation in entrepreneurship and enterprise studies. By the end, you will be able to:
- Understand the Enterprise Concept: grasp the meaning of an enterprise, its key characteristics, roles in society, and primary objectives.
- Explore the Enterprise Environment: Learn about the internal and external factors that influence how enterprises operate.
- Master the Enterprise as an Economic Agent: Study the origins and historical development of enterprises, along with their various classifications (e.g., size, ownership, activity).
- Emphasize Entrepreneurial Education: recognize the value of entrepreneurial education in fostering creativity and enterprise creation among university students. This includes understanding program content, essential skills for project development, and the socio-economic environment that supports an entrepreneurial culture.
- Understand Entrepreneurship Concepts: Gain a clear understanding of terms and ideas related to entrepreneurship.
- Analyze the socio-economic context: Become familiar with the social and economic conditions that shape entrepreneurial activities.
- Master Project Creation: Learn the step-by-step process of establishing an entrepreneurial project.
- Discover Support Systems: Explore institutions and frameworks that assist entrepreneurship in academia, including details on implementing Decision 1275 (university diploma/startup and university diploma/patent) in Algeria.

The course is divided into eight units, each building on the previous one to give you a comprehensive view of entrepreneurship. Here’s what you’ll study:
Unit 1: The Enterprise: Its Concept, Origin, Development, and Classifications
- Definition and characteristics of an enterprise
- Historical evolution from ancient trade to modern businesses
- Types of enterprises (e.g., micro, small, large; private, public)
Unit 2: The Internal and External Environment of the Enterprise
- Internal factors: resources, structure, and culture
- External factors: market, economy, and regulations
Unit 3: Organization and Structures of the Enterprise
- How enterprises are organized (e.g., departments, hierarchies)
- Different structural models and their purposes
Unit 4: Enterprise Functions
- Key functions: production, marketing, finance, and human resources
- How these functions work together for success
Unit 5: Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Its Forms
